Saving Lives with Automotive Parking Lights

Most people do not think about their parking lights but those lights are there for your safety and the safety of others. Can you imagine automotive parking lights not installed on the pace cars for NASCAR? It’s not going to happen anytime soon. The pace car for the 2007 Shelby GT500 Ford had even a rear spoiler-mounted strobe light bar along with the normal parking light strobes to pace the NASCAR drivers before the big race in 2007.

However, if you are just mom and pop visiting your grandchildren in order to arrive safely for the holiday visit you have to make sure your automotive parking lights are working. Those parking lights primary function is to help you park the car. But they are connected to a larger lighting system or circuit in your car.

Many times these automotive parking lights will go out at the same time the rear taillights go out. This is dangerous because other vehicles at night depend upon those lights to see your car from the rear approach and are there to avoid any unnecessary collision. Sometimes the parking lights in front of the car will have a separate switch that keeps those lights on fulltime. This is to make sure all approaching vehicles see your car and they serve as a backup if the headlights go out.

When parking your car the other vehicles know that you are beginning to park because of these lights going on in the back of the car as you step on your brakes. It sends a message to the other drivers that you are parking and they can proceed with caution around your vehicle. The modern car has strong backup lights or parking lights which illuminate the area you are to park at and when on dark roads as you backup these lights save you from going into a ditch or even more frightening going over a ledge.

Whether you are going online for import auto parts online or your new concept cars need brake pads, it is necessary that you put the correct information into the order because it will be a big hassle to return the wrong parts. Though automotive parking lights are not a large item; there are numerous online deals that can save you up to 80% of what you may normally pay by going to your parts store locally.

Many times your automotive parking lights are the lights damaged in slow-moving fender-benders in parking lots. If you notice your automotive parking lights have been damaged it is best to think safety first and immediately have those parking light fixtures replaced. Because they are there on your car for safety, you must think safe and take the time to replace them. Take the time and replace the parking lights. The friendly police officer will give you a ticket for having those automotive parking lights broken.
